Luvo is an online marketplace which aims to change the way people buy and sell products and services.
It works when users buying an item or service post details of what they want. Prospective sellers can submit their best proposal for buyers to review before choosing the one that suits them best.
Luvo is the brainchild of East Kilbride based entrepreneur Graeme McCreath who since 2002 has operated a successful direct mail company.
As a business owner selling his company services to other businesses, Graeme has regularly been involved in competitive tender situations where a potential customer would invite vendors to submit proposals for contracts. As part of this process, Graeme’s team would put together his company’s best proposal for the business.
Graeme recognised that in following this process, the customer would get to choose the best offer which met their requirements for the best price.
As well as being a business owner, Graeme was a consumer like the rest of us. He thought that if the model of the buyer being in control could work in a business environment, could it work for consumer shopping for everyday items like gadgets, fashion and furniture?
Luvo.com was launched on the 1st June 2017 with the objective of putting buyers in control of their shopping experience. Meanwhile, private and commercial sellers will have access to a steady flow of new buyers who are looking for their products and services.
With a flat fee structure, Luvo.com is free for buyers to use and its free for sellers to submit offers, only successful bidders are charged when their transaction is complete.
We pride ourselves on being founded, owned and operated in the UK and (unlike some of the other well known marketplaces) we pay full UK corporation tax on all our UK profits.
